| What is Skeet? American skeet is a popular activity at Pikes Peak Gun Club. We have four permanent skeet fields plus a fifth (temporary) field for special events such as the Colorado State Skeet Championship. Skeet fields are available on a first come basis any time the club is open. The club does host an average of four registered skeet shoots and four registered trap shoots annually which are usually on weekends and do limit the number of skeet fields available for public shooting while a competition is in progress. Please call the club house at 719-683-4420 to confirm field availability. In addition, Pikes Peak Gun Club sponsors two skeet leagues annually. The spring league starts in late March and meets weekly on weekends for eight sessions. The autumn league starts in late August and meets weekly on Wednesday evenings for eight sessions. Both leagues are open to shooters of all abilities and are handicapped to allow those of modest skills to compete with the best. We normally shoot 50 targets weekly for a total of 400 targets. Please watch this web site or call the club house for more information. Our dedicated staff makes an effort to keep the machines on all of our fields throwing a quality target. We use White Flyer orange dome targets which are hooped regularly to offer a good shooting experience. By special request (in advance) the club manager can set a field for International skeet.
