Our Community
The Izaak Walton League, Pikes Peak Gun Club has been part of the Colorado community for 95 years. It has become an invaluable part of the states 4H program along with many other youth groups. The family that is the PPGC has established itself as a unique group of volunteer members dedicated to conservation, youth activities, community outreach and charity. We only exist because of the hard work of individuals like you working to make a difference, so please join us for great fun, hard work, and amazing comradery.

Youth programs consist of many disciplines of shooting sports at the Pikes Peak Gun Club.
Conservation and the Izaak Walton League of America
Pikes Peak Gun Club has an important focus on Conservation and environmental issues. As a proud chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (https://www.iwla.org) we believe in the mission of that group, which states, “Our Mission: To conserve, restore, and promote the sustainable use and enjoyment of our natural resources, including soil, air, woods, waters, and wildlife.”
Majestic Pikes Peak
One of the largest Gun Clubs in Colorado, this multi-use facility offers the shooting and hunting enthusiast multiple venues for improving and maintaining their shooting skills, including Trap, Skeet, Sport Clays, Archery, Pistol and Rifle ranges as well as multiple special use facilities for competitions and instruction. This 147 acre space also allows members to practice numerous opportunities for habitat improvement and beautification.
Recent projects include re-purposing wood from an older rifle range into planters that hold Ponderosa Pine seedlings. Through a cooperative arrangement with the Colorado State Forestry Service, the PPGC buys seedlings which will be transplanted and used to establish wind-and-snow breaks, as well as provide new habitat for the animals residing on our property, such as our resident quail population. They also will contribute to the mitigation of soil erosion and add to the aesthetics of the facility. At present we have more than 90 trees in various stages of growth scattered throughout the range facility, with more on the way.
Other projects include adding selected drought-resistant plants to the Trap and Sporting Clays courses and continuing to improve the various ranges by projects that assist with the issue of soil erosion which will contribute to the longevity of our facilities.
All of these projects are made possible by the generous donation of volunteer time by our members, who unselfishly contribute to these and many other projects at the club.
The Pikes Peak Gun Club also sponsors a student each year at the Warner School of Natural Resources at Colorado State University through their awarding of a scholarship, the Lee Ooley Memorial Scholarship, named after an esteemed PPGC member who inspired many others through this dedication and hard work on numerous conservation projects.
Community Outreach
Staying connected to our community is one one of the most important reasons that the Pikes Peak Gun Club has remained in existence for nearly a century.
